Reykjavík, Iceland — The Nepali short film “Jali Bhanja,” presented by Prasun Films, has officially been released on YouTube following a special premiere screening held among the Nepali community in Iceland.

Before its online release, the film was showcased at a special premiere event held at Grandi Mathöll in Reykjavík, Iceland, attended by members of the Nepali community living in Iceland. Audience members praised the film’s story, presentation, and entertainment value, describing it as highly enjoyable. Many viewers also shared that the typical Nepali village setting portrayed in the film made them feel emotionally connected to their own hometowns and villages back in Nepal. The positive response from the audience has greatly encouraged the production team.
Director Prakash Tiwari “PK” stated that “Jali Bhanja” mainly presents village life, simplicity, relationships, and human behavior through a light satirical and entertaining style. Through the journey of a clever nephew and an innocent uncle, the film attempts to portray trust, deception, and human nature in an engaging way.
Prior to this project, Tiwari gained experience by working as an assistant director in various telefilms and feature films. He developed the concept of “Jali Bhanja” during his recent visit to Nepal. Having previously been active in the Nepali entertainment industry, he has been living across different European countries for many years. Despite living abroad, he continues to remain actively involved in Nepali art, culture, and filmmaking. During his visits to Nepal, he has continued working in films and television productions. His upcoming Nepali feature film “Kapuri Ka,” in which he plays a leading role, is also preparing for release.

The film features performances by director Prakash Tiwari himself alongside Sabin Bastola “Girdhari,” Sunil Bastola, Rudra Prasad Bastola, and other artists.
During the premiere event, while interacting with the audience and collecting feedback, producers Pramod Adhikari and Sulochana Duwadi expressed their commitment to continuing the production of Nepali films and short films in the future.
The cinematography of the film was done by Marubhumi Narayan, while the post-production work was completed at Pen Scissors and Renders Studio by editor Gautam Raj Khadka.
